Château Peyrabon AOC Haut Médoc, Cru Bourgeois (2003 Classification)

Château Peyrabon’s 50 hectares produce Haut Médoc Appellation wine. 15 hectares of vines are planted on clay-limestone soil and 32,5 hectares are on sandy gravel top soil with clay sub soil. The vineyard is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, planted at a density of between 6,500 and 8,500 plants per hectare, as for La Fleur Peyrabon. The average age of the vines is 17 years. Picking is done by hand and by machine and the wine is aged for an average of 14 months in oak barrels, of which 20% to 30% are new each year.
